Ripe fruit, black cherry jam, raspberries and plum. In the older ones you can also perceive hints of musk and tobacco. Amarone della Valpolicella is a rich and dense wine, with a rather marked astringency, however balanced both by the marked softness and by the remarkable alcohol volume.
